You can also always send us a message or DM with questions—we are your student government, and this is your column! Here, we’ll share important updates, SGA meeting notes, and the perspective of various SGA members.

Recently, the Boarding and Day Monitors have been working closely with the administration to question the necessity of the new REACH sign-in protocol. Here are some questions they’ve been asking:

What’s the priority—morning class attendance or the check-in? Should we prioritize getting to class on time or scanning in?
Why is a second morning attendance procedure necessary when teachers already take attendance?
Can we install tags on the inside of each classroom for more options of where to sign in?
Why do boarders have to do a second check in? What’s the purpose of a second check-in for day students if they’re never signing out and still on campus at 6 P.M.?
Why do parents need an email every day?

Come back next issue for the administration’s answer to each of these questions.

9/10 SGA Minutes

Class I Reps: sent a senior sunrise form to seniors.

Class II Reps: completed introductions to class, emphasized that SGA meetings are open to students, planning fun activities for first meetings, planning Class Council.

Class III Reps: thinking about budget transparency, sending form for how class wants to use money

Day Monitors: discussing REACH etiquette, emphasizing to students that lockers near the bookstore are available to them, meeting with Day Council.

All: debated the importance of the new REACH protocol, as seen above.
