Hi everyone! Welcome to this week's edition of Rowan’s Report.
So, who exactly are the Head Monitors this year? Obviously, we all know them as Phoebe and Jon, but who are they on a deeper level? Today, I asked them some pressing questions with the goal of understanding the duo beyond their USM announcements.
Do you have any pets? If so, what type and what are their names?
JON: I have no pets.
PHOEBE: I have one dog: an Sheperd named Strider.
What is your current favorite class?
JON: Poetry with Mr. Simoneau.
PHOEBE: After 2000.
Who is your favorite musician?
JON: Daniel Caesar.
PHOEBE: Blood Orange or The Backseat Lovers.
Orange or blue?
JON: Blue.
PHOEBE: Blue!
What are you most looking forward to this year?
JON: I’m really looking forward to senior projects!
PHOEBE: I’m definitely looking forward to the spring.
Also, in an effort to keep the wider community in the loop, here are some updates about what the SGA has been cooking up over the last couple of weeks.
We met with Ms. Butler to discuss upcoming events, and specifically discussed the administration’s decision to move boarder dinner from the last week of school before winter break to the last week of school before Thanksgiving break.
The Monitors and I met with Ms. Jacobs to discuss our grievances with the four day schedule. We learned that many of our problems had already been voiced by adults in the community, and Ms. Jacobs is working to address them as best she can. This is a learning curve for everyone involved, so the routine should be ironed out as it starts to become a more regular part of Milton life.
