A Shopping Cart Leads a Cherished Cross Country Tradition

At 4:00 pm every Friday in the fall, when other teams are just getting started with practice, a high-pitched rattling comes across the track. To the tune of screaming and raucous energy, the boys of the Cross Country team hurl a rickety shopping cart around campus, its contents clanging inside with a flag bearing the letters “MAXC” in the classic blue and orange painted lettering. The industrial speaker inside the cart contrasts with the garnished exterior covered in shiny pom-poms and strings.

Sailing Gets a Strong Tailwind to Nationals After Choppy Seas at the President’s Trophy

This weekend, on May 16 and 17, Varsity Sailing will be heading to the National Invitational Tournament (N.I.T.), in which the team earned an opportunity to attend through an at-large qualifying bid after competing in the NESSA Championship, otherwise known as the President’s Trophy. This regatta was held at The St. George’s School in Rhode Island, where eight teams qualified through their performances during the regular season.

Over the last few matches, the Boys Varsity Soccer team has shown promising form, winning 4–1 in their previous five games. The road to the playoffs is a challenging one, but hope permeates the locker room.
